The complexities and the mechanics of investment banking are explored in detail by Professor Ernest Bloch in Inside Investment Banking. Despite the many illustrations, examples and statistics, Bloch was unable to present this complex profession in an easily understood manner. Given the plethora of buzzwords associated with the industry and the often mysterious, less than obvious functions of investment bankers, it is not surprising that Inside Investment Banking is intellectually accessible only to readers with at least a moderate understanding of financial markets.
